Family Passings

  • Deserie's husband, Brian Jensen, passed away on July 8, 2019 from cardiac arrest associated with Lupus at the age of 48.
  • My wife, Linda Watkins, passed away on December 3, 2021 from cancer-related causes at the age of 71.
  • My mother, Verda Watkins, passed away on March 15, 2022 from natural causes at the age of 104. She was buried with my father Leroy Watkins (Roy) in the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.

Brian Jensen

Deserie Watkins married Brian Jensen of Rexburg, Idaho.  It was a classic storybook romance.  Brian was the boy next door when Deserie's family moved to Rexburg in March 1987.  Deserie was 15 and Brian was 16.  They were each other's first love.  Five and a half years later, after Brian returned from his LDS mission, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on December 28, 1992.

Brian and Deserie have four children - Carter in 1997, Rachael in 2000, Kirsten in 2003, and Shannon in 2005.

While Brian is no longer with us, they were married forever.  They will be together again and Deserie anxiously looks forward to that day.

Missionary Service - Rachael & Kirsten

In early 2022, Brian's and Deserie's older daughters Rachael (upper left) and Kirsten (lower middle) went on Church Missions. In February Rachael went to Chicago, Illinois, and in March Kirsten went to Riverside, California Spanish-speaking. They had wonderful experiences serving the Lord.

Kirsten returned home on September 22, 2023.

Rachael returned home on July 8, 2023. She plans to attend BYU-I in Rexburg in January 2024.

Deserie's New Hobby:

In Rachael's and Kirsten's absence, Deserie has developed a new hobby. She got 7 little chicks, all hens. In beteeen haircuts, perms, and colors in her salon, her chickens are becoming her most spoiled pets. Undoubtly she will get many more as she converts her backyard into a chicken farm. On June 30, 2023, she was so excited to get her first egg. She is not sure which hen laid it.
