Daniel Beck

Daniel Beck

Daniel Beck was introduced to the world of music through theatre. Broadway musicals, in particular, inspired him to develop his voice. He sang along to cassette tapes in his old '82 Mazda, and credits "Phantom of the Opera," and "Les Meserables" as being the greatest influences in his development. In high school he played Captain Vonn Trapp in "The Sound of Music." and has been hooked on singing ever since.

Daniel Beck is available from Deseret Book.

Daniel attended Weber State University where he met and married his wife Amy. Over the next few years, in the midst of school, work, and taking care of his growing family, Dan continued to perform in musicals and sing where he could. He performed such hits as "Oklahoma," "1776," "Carousel," "Annie," and the "Scarlet Pimpernel." It was during his stage production of "Scarlet Pimpernel" that Dan met Kenneth Cope, an extraordinary composer, arranger, and recording artist, who immediately became his close friend. Through this association, Dan has enjoyed increasing work as a studio vocalist.

Dan has performed and acted in films, concerts, and on stage for the past 16 years.

One might be tempted to say, "Move over, Josh," after hearing his rendition of "You Raise Me Up." It's just that good!

Daniel Beck has 4 children, and 1 child stillborn. They are now living in Lincoln, California, where he is employed as a technician for a company that sells and installs traffic control devices. After installation, Daniel travels to their locations to configure them and make them operational. One might argue that he could quit his day job.

Other Groups with Daniel Beck

After Daybreak
After Daybreak is a classical crossover trio that consists of Daniel Beck, Drew Boushka & David Fritch. Successful solo artists in their own right, the three had previously each worked with the same vocal coach that trained David Archuleta for American Idol, and first sang together at the very studio where Archuleta trained for his Idol run. Daniel, Drew & David combine influences from pop to classical, combining meaningful lyrics with beautiful melodies and lush orchestrations, performing and recording in five different languages (English, French, Italian, Latin & Spanish).

Prior to forming as After Daybreak, its members had went door-to-door performing on front porches and selling their CDs, as well as earned a living doing singing telegrams. Since then, they have gone on to appear on several high-profile television networks and radio programs, have done countless live performances and have even performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

The trio's debut EP, the holiday-inspired "What A Wonderful World", reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Classical Albums chart in the U.S. in November 2010. Their full-length self-titled 'After Daybreak' album was released in June 2011 and debuted at #11 on the Billboard Classical Crossover chart.
